m Dingo facts...

The Dingo is Australia’s wild dog. Believed to have been introduced by Asian seafarers around 4000 years ago, they have adapted to the Aussie climate and environment. Most commonly found in outback, dry inland areas, they can be found in every state in Australia except Tasmania. Their short coat and bushy tail is usually sandy yellow to reddish ginger in colour, with white paws, chest, and tail tip. Very occasionally you will find one that is brown or black.
Dingoes are excellent hunters, preying on various sized animals from rabbits to kangaroos. There is concern that ‘pure’ dingoes are endangered, as many have cross bred with domestic dogs. For this reason dogs are prohibited on Fraser island to protect the pure dingo population that resides there.
