This very cute Aussie is the smallest of all the worlds penguin species and stands only 33cm (approx 12 inches) tall. It is the only penguin to breed on mainland Australia. It can swim 15 - 20 km (approx. 12 miles) a day searching for food and can dive to 65 meters (180 feet) in depth. Little penguins actually sleep at sea! - they doze as they float on the surface!
