These legendary Aussie icons are marsupials which live in open woodlands or dry forests throughout Australia. They rest during the day, and graze from dusk to dawn, eating grasses and green herbage. Baby kangaroos, called joeys, are carried in the mother's front pouch for the first 6 to 8 months of its life.
